About Mary Jo's

Mary Jo has been in the pet grooming industry since 1992.  She is in this business because she believes in bettering the lives of animals the way we would better lives for ourselves.  She lives for sharing her love through her craft by helping keep your pets healthy and happy.  She works on acclimating puppies to the maintenance environment, easing anxiety in troubled dogs and catering to the sick and elderly with truly special care.  She takes great pride in her work and in taking time to get to know your dog and their specific behaviors and needs.

As a certified Reiki Master and practitioner, she takes the extra step in caring for your pet’s metaphysical being as well as its physical one.  Reiki is an alternative course of therapy in which positive energy and perception is passed along to another being.  This channeling of energy has proven to show noticeable improvement in pain, illness, anxiety and depression and obsessive behaviors.  There are Reiki charged crystals placed on the tables, in the tubs and by the kennels to aid in relaxation with gentle electromagnetic vibrations.  Combined with soothing music and scented essential oils, this added calm makes grooming a much more enjoyable experience for all of her beloved clients.

All dogs require grooming.  Appropriate grooming is an important part of dog ownership.  It not only makes your companion look better, but it contributes to their physiological and psychological health.  As your dog's personal groomer, MaryJo can play an intricate part in their health and well being and can provide you with valuable information from previous experiences or resources for what is out of her knowledge or power.  Groomers are often the first line of defense for many skin maladies, sensitivities or abnormalities and can be a very useful tool in saving you money at the veterinary offices.
